Dustin Poirier, former interim lightweight champion, remains undecided about his fighting future amidst a string of injuries sustained in his recent bout against Islam Makhachev at UFC 302. Poirier disclosed on social media that he suffered a broken nose, a broken rib, and a partially torn ACL during the fight, illustrating the toll taken by his efforts in the octagon.

The injuries Poirier sustained are significant, with his nose being described as “shattered,” a recurring issue in his career. Additionally, he dealt with a knee injury during the fight, which he suspects might be an ACL tear, though a second opinion is being sought to determine the necessity of surgery.
