Randy Brown entered UFC 302 on a two-fight winning streak, most recently securing a knockout victory over Muslim Salikhov in February. Brown had an impressive record of 6-1 in his last seven appearances in the Octagon.

His opponent, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, was coming off a majority draw against Rinat Fakhretdinov in November, following back-to-back wins over Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Benoit Saint-Denis.

The first round saw Brown start aggressively with jabs and a right hand, countered by a low kick from dos Santos. Brown utilized his reach advantage effectively, keeping dos Santos at bay with jabs and a low kick.

An accidental eye poke briefly paused the action. When the fight resumed, Brown landed a three-punch combination, but dos Santos managed a brief takedown. The round ended with a trade of low kicks and a big knee from Brown after a spinning backkick from dos Santos.

The final round began with dos Santos landing a low kick and a right hand, countered by Brown’s 1-2 combination. Another eye poke caused a pause. Upon resumption, Brown continued to utilize his jab while dos Santos answered with low kicks.

Brown narrowly missed a huge uppercut, and dos Santos shot for a takedown but ended up pressing Brown against the cage. As the fight neared its end, Brown landed jabs and a knee that opened a cut on dos Santos. Despite a late takedown attempt by dos Santos, Brown defended well and landed strikes to close the contest.

The fight concluded with Randy Brown winning by unanimous decision (29-28 on all three scorecards), marking another victory in his impressive UFC run. Brown’s effective striking and defense against dos Santos’ takedowns and submission attempts secured his win in a closely contested match.
