One of the shows people are highly anticipating for is You to return soon. American Psychological thriller crime drama series You is currently working on its third season, which will happen anytime soon. Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble are the creators of the show. And it is based on the novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes. After season 1’s success, the series was immediately renewed for its second season, which was based on Kepnes’s follow-up novel, Hidden Bodies.
You initially debuted on Lifetime network but was later shifted to Netflix for its second season. Furthermore, now it will continue to premiere on the streaming giant.
You was given a green signal in January 2020, and it was announced that the next season would be released in 2021. So, let’s go ahead and get all the info on the upcoming installment.
You, Season 3: Release Date
Right after a month of the release of season 2, Netflix commissioned the show for another season. And why wouldn’t it? However, the filming was put to a halt due to the ongoing pandemic. But luckily, the show has resumed production, and we also have evidence. Netflix informed that they began production on Nov 2, with a picture of Penn Badgley. Badgley, who plays Joe Goldberg in the show, was seen lying on the ground wearing a ‘Hey You’ mask.
According to sources, California has reportedly provided a series of $7.2 million for the filming of the new season. Starting from this month, You is supposed to conclude the production next year in April. This means we can expect the third season to premiere by mid-2021.
