As we already told you about Gadot reuniting with her former co-worker, Jenkins; There is still a lot of man force behind the project.
Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven, Jenkins, Gadot, and her Pilot Wave Motion Pictures partner Jaron Varsano are producing the movie. However, Laeta Kalogridis, the screenwriter is executively producing the film. Kalogridis will start penning down the script as soon as possible. Gadot, 35, also shared her excitement on social media. She wrote that she loves the excitement of new projects and she loves to embark on a new journey. She also mentioned how she always wanted to tell the story of Cleopatra. In the end, she thanked the “A team” she will be working with.
Cleopatra was the last living ruler of the Plotaemic Kingdom of Egypt. She is the daughter of Ptolemy who was the leader of the army of Alexander. Cleopatra is known for her boldness and her ability to win wars by hook or crook.
Rome’s ruler Julius Ceaser’s mentor-turned-enemy Pompey fled to Egypt after a wrecking war. This caused Egypt to become a fixation of Roman rulers. Back then, Cleopatra approached Ceaser in her ways and got stuck with him in a romantic yet complicated relationship. Later she got together with Marc Anthony romantically.
The first-ever mega adaptation to the big screen came back in 1963. Elizabeth Taylor played the marvelous Cleopatra in Joseph Mankiewicz-directed Cleopatra. With a budget of $31 million, the movie won four of the nine Oscars for which it was nominated. Even though the movie won big, it nearly ruined the 20th Century Fox. But, even after witnessing that situation, Hollywood still fancy the Queen of Nile.
