Thirty-Nine is a Korean tv series that was released in 2022 and was directed by Kim Sang-ho, with Yoo Yeong-ah as the writer for it. The show’s production was handled by Lotte Cultureworks and, most of all, JTBC Studios, who have made a lot of great dramas during this time like All of us are dead, Nevertheless, and many more. The show’s reception was pretty good as it was released as it was praised for its story, and acting as the actors/actresses did a fantastic job in conveying the emotion of the characters. The show was very popular as it become the final episode; the show had the highest ratings national wide which was 8.1%. Furthermore, it was on Netflix’s list of most-watched international Netflix TV shows for 4 weeks straight.
The show follows the story of a trio of best friends who go through the experience of life together when they are about to turn 40. We are first introduced to Cha Mi Jo, who is the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. She grew up in a wealthy family who were very caring as well as gave her everything she ever desired. The second protagonist is named Jung Chan Young, who always dreamed of becoming an actress but this dream of hers wasn’t fulfilled, instead, she become an acting teacher. She is a straightforward person that tells people what she thinks about them to their faces, but there is one thing that makes her character hard to hate, which is her sincerity which wins the heart of all the people.
Last but not least is Jang Joo Hee, who works in a department store as a cosmetics manager. She hasn’t given herself enough time as she hasn’t been in a romantic relationship. As for the cast members it consists of Son Ye-jin as Cha Mi-jo, Jeon Mi-do as Jeong Chan-young, Kim Ji-Hyun as Jang Joo-hee, Yeon Woo-jin as Kim Seon-woo, Lee Moo-saeng as Kim Jin-Seok, Lee Tae-hwan as Park Hyun-joon, Ahn So-hee as Kim So-won, Lee Kan-hee as Mi-jo’s mother, and many more. It is a show that has a very interesting premise and a very good cast of characters who have done an amazing job of acting. It is no doubt that it generated such attention for itself.
Thirty-Nine Season Three Release Date
The fans of the series have watched the show, but right afterward, they wanted to know whether there will be a second season for the show. As of writing this, the show hasn’t been renewed for a second season by JTBC or Netflix. There is a little chance for the series to get renewed for a second season because the first season completed the entire storyline of the show, which includes all the subplots. One can say it had a very satisfying ending that didn’t leave any room for a new season. But who knows if they come up with a new season, but it will focus on a different trio of friends that are about to reach 40.
