The 100 is a tv series that is based on the science fiction novel of the same name by Kass Morgan. The show was developed by Jason Rothenberg, and there were numerous executive producers for the show, some of which are renowned like Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars), Bruce Miller (The Handmaid’s Tale, Eureka), Matt Miller, Gina Girolamo, Bharat Nalluri, Elizabeth Craft, Sarah Fain and many more. The show, upon its release, received critical acclaim by the critics as well as was loved by the audience. As for the plot, the show takes place 97 years after the nuclear apocalypse that devastated the earth and so the life that resides within it.
Because of that reason, thousands of people are now spending their lives in a space station that revolves around the earth, which is called the Ark. On the Ark, three generations of humans have been born in space. But things start to go south as the life-support systems on the Ark, for some reason, start to fail, due to this reason hundred juvenile detainees are sent to Earth. This was done to ensure that the place called the earth is habitable for humans, but there was another reason for it which was to save the precious resources for those that are residing on the Ark.
Upon reaching the earth, they realize that some people have survived the nuclear explosion, but those that have survived are in the middle of the war and have made factions like Grounders that want all the power to themselves. The Reapers who are one of the groups that were turned into cannibals by the Mountain Men. Last but not the least are Mountain Men who live in Mount Weather, that are the direct descendants of those people that locked themselves away before the apocalypse. This group is under the leadership of Clarke and Bellamy, in this cruel world, the group has to find ways to survive this ordeal but at the same time communicate with the Ark
The 100 Season 8 Release Date
As for the cast, Eliza Taylor as Clarke Griffin, Bob Morley as Bellamy Blake, Kelly Hu as Cece Cartwig, Paige Turco as Abby Griffin, Thomas McDonell as Finn Collins, Eli Goree as Wells Jaha, Marie Avgeropoulos as Octavia Blake, and many more. The fans of the series were treated to the seventh season of the show, which was like the rest, received critical acclaim, but there was still a hole left in heart of the fans as they were wondering whether they will be getting another season of the show. But unfortunately, the seventh season of the show was its final, but with the show being so popular, there is a chance that a season might get unveiled or some other thing regarding the show.
It was announced that there is going to be a prequel to the show, but it was canceled by CW. But if there was a new season, the fans might be getting it in 2023, and if so, then the announcement will most likely be made by the end of this year.
