Mr. Sunshine is a South Korean tv series that first aired in July of 2018 and ended in the same year. The show’s production was handled by Dragon Studio, which has worked on countless amazing K-Drama series that is renowned throughout the world. Upon its release, Mr. Sunshine was showered with praise by numerous critics who were gushing over how good the plot was, and it’s way of telling this incredible story to the audience, which not only entertained them but also made them well aware of the history of the world. The show was on many big media outlets’ top 10 lists, including the likes of Time and Collider. On top of such insane praise was the fact that it was nominated for many awards and won a couple of them.
Moreover, it became the sixth highest-rated drama in Korean cable tv history, with its final episode having the second-highest average rating ever recorded for cable tv. The story of the show revolves around Eugene Choi, that is born into slavery in Joseon, but this life didn’t suit him, which leads Eugene to escape to the United States after the 1871 Shinmiyangyo and become a Marine Corps officer. But his past won’t leave him alone as one of his mission lead him back to Joseon. There Eugene meets with an aristocrat’s granddaughter and falls in love with her, who is named Go Ae-shin who is revealed to be the part of Righteous Army.
Their love is tested because of their class and most due to a nobleman named Kim Hui-Seong, who is been engaged to Ae-shin in their childhood. During his time there, Eugene meets with numerous characters like a ruthless samurai and Kudo Hina, owner of the popular “Glory Hotel” where Eugene stays. Furthermore, on top of that, he then finds out about the plot of the Empire of Japan that wanted to colonize Korea. As for the cast, it consists of Lee Byung-hun as Eugene Choi, Kim Tae-ri as Go Ae-shin, Yoo Yeon-Seok as Goo Dong-mae, Kim Min-jung as Lee Yang-Hwa, and many more.

With that much hype and a large portion of it being fans of the show, they wanted more from this show as its story should continue and tell many more stories. The fans have been wanting to know will they be getting another season of Mr. Sunshine. The answer to this question is still unknown to all as there hasn’t been any news as to whether there will be a second season of the show. On top of this, the cast and crew have already told us that the show has reached its conclusion with all the storyline and subplots being dealt with. It was without a doubt a great show, but all good things must come to an end.
