Hyouka is a novel written by Honobu Yonezawa and was first released in 2001 was published by Kadokawa Shoten. In the March of 2012, a manga was released which is written by Taskohna. The anime for Hyouka was handled by Kyoto Animation which is known for its work on The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Clannad, K-On!, Free! And most of all Violet Evergarden. It was directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto, the producers for the anime were Atsushi Itō and Hideaki Hatta. The anime was written by Shoji Gatoh and the music was handled by Kōhei Tanaka.
As for the plot, it follows the story of a student named Hotaru Oreki who joined Kamiyama High School’s Classic Literature Club because of her sister to stop it from being abolished. Hotaro is joined by her comrades Eru Chitanda, Satoshi Fukube, and Mayaka Ibara. The city of Kamiyama is where this story takes place and this place is where the Kamiyama High School resides. As the story progresses, many things get unveiled including an incident surrounding one of the members’ uncles. There is a mystery that bothers our protagonist and he is determined to find out what happened in this place.
The cast of the anime consists of, Hotaro Oreki who is voiced by Yūichi Nakamura, he is the main protagonist of the show who joins the Literature Club because of his older sister. Eru Chitanda who is voiced by Satomi Satō, is a very smart girl that tops every exam and possesses incredible memory. Satoshi Fukube who is voiced by Daisuke Sakaguchi, is a classmate of Hotaro who is proud of his memory and calls himself a human “database.” Mayaka Ibara is voiced by Ai Kayano, she is the fourth member of the Classic Literature Club and she is also a member of the school’s manga club as she is passionate about drawing manga.
Hyouka Season 2 Release Date
As for Hyouka Season 2, there hasn’t been any news on whether there will be a second season of the show which was news that the fans of the series wanted to hear. But there is still hope as recently, the show celebrated its 10th anniversary and during that period it was announced that there a new project in work which is related to Hyouka. But the details on this new project weren’t revealed so this could point towards a movie or most likely an anime continuation that the fans have been dying for.
