Beyond Evil was a South Korean tv series that aired in 2021; it was directed by Shim Na-Yeon and written by Kim Su-jin. The production company was handled by Celltrion Entertainment (Tomorrow With You, Vagabond) and JTBC Studios (The Good Detective, Forecasting Love and Weather). Both are really good studios that have handled many good projects previously. The story of the show was inspired by Korea’s Hwaseong serial murders case. The story of the show is very interesting as it follows the story of two fearless policemen that come from the Manyang Police Substation.
This Munju Police Station is located in the western part of Gyeonggi, where our protagonists, Lee Dong-sik and Han Joo-won, take the law into their hands to catch the serial killer. Throughout the story, they try to discover the identity of the monster that they are after, but with each step they move forward, they lose grip over themselves as they even question the innocence of everyone that is involved with this case, even themselves. As time passes, the quest of finding this great evil turns into something else entirely. A very interesting premise indeed which made the show very enjoyable to watch.
The cast of the show consists of Shin Ha-kyun as Lee Dong-sik, Yeo Jin-goo as Han Joo-won, Choi Sung-eun as Yoo Jae-yi, Chun Ho-jin as Nam Sang-bae, Son Sang-gyu as Cho Gil-gu, Baek Seok-kwang as Hwang Kwang-young, Nam Yoon-su as Oh Ji-hoon, Choi Dae-hoon as Park Jeong-je and many more. When the series came to its conclusion, the fans of the series wanted to know whether they will be getting another season of the show or not, and this is a question that is still yet to be answered. This is because the showrunners have yet to renew Beyond Evil for a second season.

But there is still hope for it, and the reason behind it is due to the fact which is its rating that was insanely high, and its reception was very positive as the show was praised for its different aspects like the story, characters, and many more things which made one of the best shows to come out in 2021. All of these things are something that showrunners/networks look into when they want to renew the show. When looking at the viewership, reception, and the awards it received make it possible that the show will return for a second season.
