86 or Eighty-Six is a light novel series that has been written by Asato Asato and illustrated by Shirabii. It was a very popular novel series that ultimately was adapted into a manga that was illustrated by Motoki Yoshihara. Afterward, an anime adaptation was released in March 2021, and upon its release, the show was praised by the critics and the fans for its directing, storyboarding, and animation. Furthermore, it was on the top 10 list of numerous publications, and even some go as far as to call it one of the best anime of 2019. There are a total of two seasons of the show, and the fans have been yearning for a third season of the show.
The show has a very gripping story which is set in the Republic of San Magnolia, that have been at war with another kingdom that is named the Empire of Giad. This war is going on for nine years, and because of Empire’s autonomous mechanized Legions, the Republic has suffered a lot of losses, but they then created their autonomous units called Juggernauts, which are directed remotely by people that are called a Handler. In the eyes of the public, this war that is going on against machines was a lie.

Because these Juggernaut are controlled by real humans, which are called 86, which are purposefully given to the Colorata minority of San Magnolia. Major Vladilena is a military officer that hails from the San Magnolian military. He is against the mistreatment of the Colorata minority that resides in the nation. She is then been appointed as a Handler of the Spearhead Squadron for the Eastern Front. This group is a highly-trained unit that only has 86 veterans who have earned names through the difficult task they have accomplished. This squad is led by Shinei Nouzen, who is infamous in the military for many reasons.
As the time progresses, Lena and Shinei discover a dark secret: related to the war that has torn both of the kingdoms apart. It is a great story that focuses on war and many other aspects of life. There aren’t any details as to what the third season will have in store for the fans, but it is great certainty that a third season will come because the manga series is still going on to this very day, and it means that the studio has enough material to turn it into a third season.

The official members of the third season are yet to be revealed, but it most likely consists of Shinei Nouzen is voiced by: Shōya Chiba, Vladilena Milizé is, voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa, Raiden Shuga, voiced by Seiichirō Yamashita, and numerous more. If the series gets renewed, more details on the cast will get revealed if there will be a new addition to the third season or not.
