The Shack Filming Locations
The Shack was mostly shot in British Columbia, Canada, with stops in Oregan and Chicago thrown in for good measure. The film’s production began in June 2015 and lasted just over seven weeks until wrapping on July 29th.
The film was shot primarily in British Columbia, with locations including Vancouver, Stawamus Chief Park, and Sayres Lake near Mission, as well as some camping sequences at Cultus Lake.
The woodland and campground scenes in The Shack were even shot in and around Chicago, Illinois.
Cultus Lake :
Cultus Lake is a lake in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia, with a settlement surrounding it. Lake Provincial Park was used for the production of ‘The Shack.’ The park, which is located in a freshwater lake, provides beautiful views of the surrounding forest-clad mountains. Sunnyside campground, a renowned lakeside resort, was also used for filming. At the lakefront, the park offers camping and tenting.
The Mission :
The mission is a city in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland that also serves as one of the film’s locales. The city is home to Sayres Lake, which was used for filming reports. It is located on the north bank of the lovely Fraser River. The lake and the nearby forested campsite are two of the province’s most popular holiday locations. The tourists will find the woodlands and shoreline to be extremely relaxing.
Multnomah Falls, on Multnomah Creek in the Columbia River Gorge, was used to filming the film’s waterfall scenes. The beautiful waterfall, which is located in Multnomah County, is Oregon’s tallest waterfall.
Simon Benson designed the bridge, which provides famous vistas of the falls, in the early twentieth century. Volvo Lake State Park, on the south coast of Lake Volvo in Valvo County, Oregon, was also used for filming. Around the glacial lake, the park offers breathtaking views of the Volvo Mountains.
The short is set on a snow-covered peak in Washington State’s Mount Baker, roughly 20 miles southeast of Cultus Lake as the crow flies. The place belongs to Washington. It is also knows as Koma Kulshan. It has the 2nd most thermally active crater after Mount St. Helens. It is older than 140,000 years, and it is said to have stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc. It is 10,781 ft tall. If one has to choose this for trekking, then all the best dude! But yet, I caution you about the eruption of the Volcano. There are no indications about the exact forecasting…but it is expected that It will surely get restless one day!
