This new Hallmark film is set in the Alaskan tundra and chronicles the story of a young biologist who visits The Last Frontier estate. Abby is continuing her research into the migratory and mating patterns of eagles, the king of all birds. If you’re a fan of Hallmark movies, you’re surely aware that many of them are filmed in Canada. Journey of My Heart was shot in and around Vancouver and contains some of British Columbia’s most breathtaking scenery.
Abby Morgan, played by Rhiannon Fish, is a scientist whose life centers around her work at the fictional North Star Wildlife Institute. The research leads her to the picturesque Lakeside Lodge, where she meets Eric Hughes, played by Darien Martin, a charming local guide. Eric will try to steer her in the appropriate route for her to discover the isolated Eagle Crest, where the bird’s nest is. Love on the Wings of Eagles was the original title of this romantic comedy. The primary filming sites for Journey of My Heart were discovered as a consequence of our investigation.
Where did the movie Journey of My Heart take place?
According to filmmaker Lucie Guest, Journey of My Heart was shot in Vancouver on Unceded Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Watuth Territory. Filming began in April 2021 and was finished in a matter of weeks. Loon Lake Lodge, near Maple Ridge, was the setting for The Lakeside Lodge. Loon Lake is a scene where the expedition begins paddling down to the Tanana River, with the Golden Ears mountain range in the distance.
Vancouver is a city in British Columbia. Location
The film was shot in Vancouver and was originally named ‘Love on Eagle’s Wings.’ The port city, which is located in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, is an ideal place for film making because of the open tax revenue, the availability of experienced technicians and actors, stunning natural backdrops, pleasant weather, and state-of-the-art production facilities. As a result, it’s no surprise that it’s been used as a shooting location for several films and television series, including several Hallmark movies.
“Amazing shoot, amazing team, adore this team, talented actors, dream venues,” Guest said, thanking the cast and crew for their contributions to the film. “I appreciate you allowing me to direct this gem.” Other artists, such as Darien Martin, made jokes about how difficult swimming with full gear and boots would be.
Martin also acknowledged his thanks and good fortune for being cast in his first main role. It wasn’t the only feeling, though. Paul Grenier, who plays him, told him about learning about eagle feathers and how pleased he is to have worked on the film. It’s a nice environment with some joyful folks, and it’s a fantastic day at work right now.
The Lakeside Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Michigan.
The Lakeside Lodge, owned by Niko and Ellen Rivers, was filmed at Loon Lake Lodge. Golden Ears Provincial Park, on the Vancouver side, is home to this magnificent site near Maple Ridge. The genuine lodge, which is surrounded by gorgeous wilderness, is a retreat center that hosts business meetings, wellness weekends, and Camp Goodtimes, a summer recreation programs.
The expedition’s paddle down to the Tanana River will begin at Loon Lake (a true Alaskan river and tributary of the Yukon River). However, they don’t venture too far: other cabins at the Loon Lake Lodge complex were used to film the ‘glamping’ camp Jaco’s Landing (where Abby meets tribal elder Jaco Thomas). This stunning setting was previously featured in the Hallmark smash film Chasing Waterfalls, in which a magazine reporter searches for the legendary (and fake) Redwood Falls.
Hidden Canyon and Eagle Crest
Other filming locations are Eagle Crest and Hidden Canyon Chasing Waterfalls, and Journey of My Heart. The Mamquam River valley in Squamish is the stunning spot that “feels like no human being has ever set foot here” as the trio arrives at Hidden Canyon. The 62-foot (19-meter) Mamquam Falls, located in the Garibaldi Highlands hamlet, has turquoise and emerald green water pools, depending on the time of year. Residents in Mamquam Falls’ surrounding community are working on a plan to build a non-invasive boardwalk around the river.
Under this unique rain forest canopy, the project is called Squamish Canyon, and it contains a forest lounge deck with a recreational playground. Another scene from Chasing Waterfalls is referenced in a different sequence. Although we can’t be certain, the ‘hazardous’ climbing scenario was most likely recorded at Cheakamus Canyon’s Foundation Wall. Filmmakers are drawn to this area because of its picturesque splendor. River dale, Lost in Space, Resident Alien, and Big Sky are just a few of the many productions that have been shot here.
In addition, the video includes a lot of excellent stock footage of eagles captured in unknown locations and unexpected landscapes, including an establishing shot of Yosemite National Park’s gigantic Half Dome rock. By the way, playing harmonica in the presence of wild creatures who aren’t used to human interaction is probably not a smart idea; please don’t do this at home in the woods.
A cast of My Heart’s Journey
Abby is portrayed by Rhiannon Fish in this film. She is most recognized for her roles as Ontario in ‘The 100’ and Tenley Sweeney in ‘A Love to Remember.’ April Scott in ‘Home and Away’ and Lisa Jeffries in ‘Neighbors’ are among her prominent roles. Eric is played by Darien Martin in the film. You might recognize him from ‘The 100,’ where he played the Royal Guard. In addition to ‘Arrow,’ ‘iZombie,’ ‘Altered Carbon,’ and ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,’ the actor can be seen in ‘Arrow,’ ‘iZombie,’ ‘Altered Carbon,’ and ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.’
Mark Brandon (George Preston), Bethany Brown (Meaghan), Grace Dove (Ellen), Marion Eisman (Alice Hughes), Runun Garner (Harry Ryan), Dan Payne (Davis), Paul Grenier, and Ray G. Thunderchild are among the film’s other cast members.
Hallmark Channel’s Journey Of My Heart
According to IMDb, the movie’s initial title was “Love On The Wings Of Eagles,” but the name was altered later, and the title was changed to “Journey Of My Heart” for Hallmark’s telecast. The Johnson Production Group was in charge of the film’s production. Even though the film’s plot takes place in Alaska, the majority of the film was shot in Canada. Lucie Guest, the film’s director, was in charge of its production. She tagged the video as being filmed in the country Vancouver in “Unceded Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Watuth Territory” in a social media post she made at the time of filming. This is explained in greater detail in a story by Planning in Vancouver. “The Vancouver City Planning Commission (VCPC) is committed to the reconciliation and decolonization approach with First Nations and Urban Indigenous communities,” according to the blog.
A plot of My Heart’s Journey
The film was initially titled Love on Eagles’ Wings, but it was renamed after its premiere. This is based on Abby, a trained and dedicated biologist who relocates to Alaska to learn more about eagle main behaviors. She met a gorgeous guide named Eric by chance. So, do you think Abby will bring Eric along on her wildlife adventure, or will she act normally? Until then, you can see the Party from Hell filming location.
