Haikyuu is a Shōnen manga series that was written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It was released in February 2012 and ended in July 2020. The anime was announced two years after the release of the manga as the fan base for it was quite large, and its popularity grew to great proportion. It was a seasonal anime that was handled by Production I.G studio, which knows for its work on Psycho-Pass, Guilty Crown, and the Ghost in the Shell. It was directed by Susumu Mitsunaka, written by Taku Kishimoto and Yuki Hayashi handled the music for the anime. Both the manga and the anime are well received by the fans and the critics that have praised the story. The characters are all loveable as well as the author has given them time to shine on their own.
This is a pretty nice touch as in much other manga’s, the side character are only relevant for a very short time, but this isn’t the case for Haikyuu as their character has been given depth which makes the audience root for them. The main protagonist of the series is the same but is so amazing that he stands out from the rest. He is named Hinata Shouyou, who is a school student that suddenly fell in love with Volleyball. This happened when he witnessed the national championship match on TV. Hinata then wants to become a star player named “the small giant,” and to achieve his goals, he joins the school’s volleyball club.
But things weren’t looking good for him as Hinata was the only person that the club didn’t have a place for. This didn’t stop him from achieving his goals because he then gathered 5 players during his final years and was able to get into the actual competition. Hinata’s team faced off against the championship favorite and its star player Kageyama Tobio who was called “the king of the court.” They were defeated by the championship team, but this defeat only strengthen Hinata’s resolve as he vowed to surpass Kageyama.
Haikyuu Season 5 Release Date
There have been a total of four seasons so far, and fans are still waiting for the news on when the fifth season will be arriving. But there is still no word from the studio on when the fifth season will be released for this popular anime. This might be due to the Covid 19 pandemic, which has been the reason for many other anime getting delayed. Most likely, the news on the fifth season will be released this year. As for the release date, the fifth season of Haikyuu will be released in the first quarter of 2023. Furthermore, the 10th anniversary of Haikyuu arriving soon, and during that time, fans will get news on the anime and its exact release date.
