South Korean Conservative leader Yoon Suk-Yeol elected new president 

The People Power Party candidate  lead by a margin of 2,63,000 votes.

This victory  brings Conservatives back to power after a period of five years.

The President-elect was born in Yeonhui-dong, Seodaemun District, in 1960

He studied law at Seoul National University and passed the bar in 1991.

His career started by  heading the Special Branch and Central Investigation Department at Daegu 

On May 19, 2017,  President Moon Jae-in appointed Yoon as Chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

The new president-elect then served as the Prosecutor General of South Korea from 2019

In a January 2021 poll of presidential candidates, Yoon led as the most favored with 30.4 percent of the vote,.
