The School for Good and Evil is an upcoming film that is based on a novel that goes by the same name, which was written by Soman Chainani. The movie is going to be directed by Paul Feig and the producers of Joe Roth, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Jane Startz, Laura Fischer, and Paul Feig. The screenplay was written by Vanessa Taylor, David Magee, and Paul Feig. The film is been produced by three studios, and Netflix will be serving as the distributor of the film. The filming for it began in January of 2021, and even with the Covid-19 restrictions, the filming process of the film ended in the same year.
Furthermore, it was said by the writer Chainani that the film will be a lot different than the book. The crew picks up the numerous plot points, character developments as well as fan-favorites moments that they plan to adopt from the book. There was also a teaser for the film revealed during Netflix’s virtual fan event Geek Week which was meant with a positive response from the audience. Unfortunately, there isn’t a trailer for The School for Good and Evil, but in the upcoming days, it might get revealed.
The School for Good and Evil Plot
The film’s plot is set in a world called Gavaldon which revolves around Sophie and Agatha, who are best friends that have opposite sides. Sophie is a loving girl that is liked by everyone, and on the other hand, Agatha is a girl that doesn’t have any friends. Both of them dreamed of being kidnapped into the School for Good and Evil. As the name suggests, both schools have their ideals and obviously wish to enter the School for Good. On the other hand is Agatha, who doesn’t care about where she goes in. Upon getting kidnapped, this thing they wished for gets switched for some reason. Now both of them have to find a way to overcome the obstacles that are in the different schools and find a way home. But they soon realize that the only way to do so is by a fairy tale.
