The Sadness is a Taiwanese horror film that is written by a filmmaker named Rob Jabbaz, and it is his first feature film. It is a very gore-filled film that has a very interesting plot, and the cast of the movie has played an outstanding role, which makes the movie even better, and the audience cares about the characters in the film. This movie has been received well by critics as many praised its visuals effects and called it one of the best horror movies of the year.
The special effects in the movie were handled by SFX Art Maker, and for this movie, they took around three months to produce many artificial heads, which also includes some other body parts such as other intestines, etc., for more realistic-looking scenes. The production was handled by Chin-Fu, who overlooked the design of the set, which included places like a subway car and a hospital. All of these details very handled greatly by the crew, which made his movie a very immersive experience that filled the audience with fear and dread

The Sadness Release Plot
As for the cast members, there aren’t that many cast members in the movie as it only has a handful of names in it which are Berant Zhu as Jim, Regina as Kat, Tzu-Chiang Wang as The Businessman, Emerson Tsai as Liu Yu Lun, Lan Wei Hua as Doctor Weng Zhang Liang and Kass Tsai Cafe Boss. As for the Plot, the film’s story takes place in the city of Taipei, where everything seems normal at first, but this peaceful city is thrown into chaos as the people of the city are doing things like murder, torture, and mutilation.
Furthermore, as time passes, the people are becoming more insane and committing even more unspeakable crimes. Amidst all of this insanity, there is a young couple that has been separated by this cruel world that they live in, where most of the people they come across are insane. But that won’t stop them from finding each other even if the world will turn upside down.
The Sadness Release Date
The Sadness was released in Taiwan in the theatres on 22 January 2021, and it made its international debut during the 74th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland on August 12, 2021. Afterward, it was available in Austin, Texas in September of 2021. But afterward, Raven Banner Entertainment acquired the distribution rights to the film. But it didn’t get a large amount of audience now, it will now only be available on Shudder on 12 May 2022.
