The Quintessential Quintuplets is a manga series that was written and illustrated by Negi Haruba and started serializing in August 2017. The anime for the manga was announced because of its popularity, and its sales made it the third best-selling manga in the first half of 2020. The anime started on 8 January 2021 and ended on 26 March 2021. The studio behind the anime was Bibury Animation Studios which is quite a new studio that has worked on Azur Lane: The Animation and some other projects. The studio’s work paid off as the anime was received positively by the critics as well as the audience.
The anime did end, but a movie was announced in April of 2021 and which will conclude the story of the entire series. Bibury Animation Studio will be handling the movie’s production, directed by Masato Jinbo, Keiichirō Ōchi will be serving as the writer, and Hanae Nakamura as well as
Miki Sakurai will be producing the music for the movie. The story of the show revolves around Futaro Uesugi, who is a High school student that is great at studies in general. But he has a very rough life because his mother died, alone with no friends, and to top it all off, his father is in a large amount of debt.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Plot
Life gives him an opportunity that presents itself, which comes to him from a rich Nakano family who recently transferred to the same school as him. He is hired as a tutor and is been paid very highly by the family. All Futaro has to do is teach their offspring that have no interest in studying and very low grades. These offspring are five identical quintuplet sisters who hate our dear protagonist. They view him as a stranger and try their best to make him quiet, but this doesn’t work as Futaro’s determination and strong will slowly but steadily convince the girls to improve their grades and accept them as their teachers. As the story progresses, Futaro starts developing feelings for each of the quintuplets.

It is then revealed that he marries one of them, but her identity is kept a secret. The movie will answer this long-awaited question that the fans have been waiting for such a long time. And it will also be revealed why Haruba liked that one sister instead of the other four sisters. There have been a total of three trailers for the movie, and the cast of the movie has already been revealed as well.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Cast Members
As for the cast members, the movie will consist of Fuutarou Uesugi, voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, a high school student that doesn’t have any friends and then becomes the teacher of the Quintuplets. Ichika Nakano, voiced by Kana Hanazawa, is the eldest sister of the bunch who has short hair she is very caring and wise, but at the same time, she teases her sisters. Nino Nakano, voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, is the second-born sister who is fashionable and is very good at cooking, and her dream is to become a chef.
Miku Nakano, voiced by Miku Itō, is the third sister who is described as emotionless and is a secret otaku who is into the warlords’ era of Japanese history. Yotsuba Nakano, voiced by Ayane Sakura, is the fourth sister who is a very absent-minded person who got 0% scores on school tests. She loves to watch anime and drink fruit juice. Last but not the least, Itsuki Nakano, voiced by Inori Minase, the youngest of the five sisters, and just like the others, are different as she two-faced personality, one is a very friendly persona which she has with the people she knows, and the other personality gets triggered when Futaro is near her.
The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie Release Date
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie will be released on 20 May 2022 in Japan, and as of writing this, there are no details on when the movie will be released in other parts of the world.
