Nun 2 was recently highlighted during the CinemaCon 2022. It was pretty surprising for the fans to see this movie getting a sequel, but hope for the sequel was discussed by James Wan himself. In April of 2022, the development for the sequel began, and it was confirmed by Peter Safran that a sequel for the in was in work. The official announcement for the movie was made by Warner Bros. Pictures during the 2022 CinemaCon. Furthermore, the director for the movie was also changed, it will be getting directed by Michael Chaves.
Akela Cooper will serve as writer, and the production will be done by James Wan and Peter Safran. The principal photography began on 29 April 2022. The first movie has a very different crew as the first movie was directed by Corin Hardy, and Screenplay was handled by Gary Dauberman as for the story, James Wan, alongside Gary Dauberman, were the ones that wrote it. The Nun was surrounded by a lot of hype when its trailer was unveiled as the main antagonist of Conjuring 2, Valak made a very strong impression on the audience, and because of that popularity, that movie was made.
The Nun 2 Story Details
The Nun served as a prequel that happened before all of the Conjuring movies. The story of the movie occurs when Father Burke and Sister Irene are sent by the Vatican to find out about the suicide that was committed by Sister Victoria. Both of them visit then visit Saint Cartha’s monastery, where they encounter an evil demonic evil that has haunted and tainted this holy place of worship. The premise of the first movie was pretty great, but it lacked the execution.
The plot of the second movie hasn’t been revealed yet, but in 2017, it was unveiled by Wan in an interview in which he discussed the possibility of the sequel, Wan said that he knows where to take the story in the Nun as he will try to tie it together with the first two Conjuring. Moreover, he also said that there was a storyline that was planned for the film, which he said was fun. With these comments, it seems like the Nun 2 will be one hell of a ride to watch for all the fans of the Conjuring Universe.
The Nun 2 Release Date
The cast of the second movie hasn’t been fully revealed except for Bonnie Aarons, who will be reprising her role as the iconic villain, Valak. No other cast members have been revealed yet we might get Vera Farmiga as Lorraine Warren, Patrick Wilson is Ed Warren in this movie because, at the end of the Nun movie, we saw how both of them came in contact with this evil being and to be honest it will be interesting to see what role Valak has played as a whole in the Conjuring series. As for the release date, there are currently any details on its release date, but if the filming for the movie has started recently in April of this year, we might be getting the actual movie in 2024.
