Sweet Home is a Korean drama series that was released on Netflix to commercial success. The show is based on a webtoon by the same name which is written by Kim Carnby and illustrated by Hwang Young-chan. The show upon its release was positively by the critics and the audience was amazed by its premise as well as its monster designs. It had a total of 2.1 billion net views which is insane as not many shows can achieve this kind of feat. The CGI of the show was top notch and the critics also noticed it. The reason for that was Legacy Effects which is a VFX Studio Westworld and Spectral Motion who have worked on numerous big projects such as The Avengers, Avatar, Game of Thrones, and also Stranger Things.
The first season was directed by Lee Eung-bok, Jang Young-woo, and Park So-hyun. The writers for the show were Hong So-ri, Kim Hyung-min, and Park So-jung. The studio that worked on this tv show was none other than Studio Dragon which has worked on numerous notable projects like Abyss etc. The premise of the show revolves around Cha Hyun-soo who experienced an unfortunate event related to the family. This makes him move into an apartment so that he could recover from that trauma. As soon as he moves to the new apartment monsters start to eradicate humanity itself.
Sweet Home Season 2 Release Date
The people that are living inside the apartment are now trapped within the building as soon as they realize that monsters are roaming around outside. Our hero with other apartment residents decides to arm themselves to the teeth to survive this apocalypse. The first season of the show has been without a doubt a success as it reached the top third spot on Netflix and it becomes the first South Korean series. The fans of the show have one question on their mind which is whether there will be a second season of Sweet Home?

But unfortunately, their questions haven’t been answered as the Network hasn’t released any news regarding the renewal of the second season. But the fans shouldn’t be sad as there is still hope left for a second season. The first reason for that is the web novel has ended with a proper ending which means that there is a lot of material from which the show uses to make new seasons with ease. The second reason is that with the popularity of the show it is highly likely the show will get renewed which we discussed previously and Netflix knows that it will be a huge loss if they don’t renew the show.
As for the cast, it will most likely remain the same Song Kang as Cha Hyun-soo, Lee Jin-wook as Pyeon Sang-wook, Lee Si-young as Seo Yi-kyung, Lee Do-hyun as Lee Eun-hyuk, and many more. As of writing this, there have been no details on the revival of the show and there is also no release date. But most likely if the season gets announced we will get the second season at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
