Suzume no Tojimari which translates to “Suzume’s Locking-Up” is an upcoming animated movie that is written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. The director of the movie has made some of the best-animated movies some of which are Your name, Weathering With You, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Voices of a Distant Star, and many more. All of these movies were so emotional and story-rich that they won the hearts of critics as well as the audience. The director cemented himself as one of the best writers as well as directors of his time.
The fans of his work consider all of his projects as masterpieces that can’t be topped by other movies. The impact this man has made on the anime scenes can’t be ignored as many have related to his movies and they are looking forward to this movie as expectations for this movie are very high. Furthermore, there are many more talented people working on the movie. including which are Kenichi Tsuchiya as the animation director, Takumi Tanji as the art director, and finally Masayoshi Tanaka as the character designer.
Suzume no Tojimari Plot
The plot of the movie revolves around a 17-year-old girl named Suzume that lives in a very quiet town in the Kyushu region that lies within southwestern Japan. The movie begins when the protagonist (Suzume) meets a bit that is looking for a door. Both the boy and Suzume then travel together and they come across an old door that is in an abandoned house that lies within the mountains. Something seems to be pulling Suzume and she reaches out with her and opens a door.
Unfortunately, those are called Doors of Disaster and now they appear throughout Japan and cause many terrible disasters. But instead of regretting what she did, Suzume decides to travel to all the doors that are in Japan to lock the Doors of Disaster one at a time. At the same time, she is on an adventure and she battles against the world just to find her maturity and freedom.
Suzume no Tojimari Release Date
This movie has very interesting premises which make this movie very interesting. There is a teaser trailer for the movie which was recently unveiled by Toho on 10 April 2022. As for the release date, the movie will be released on 11 November 2022 and it will be getting distributed by none other than Toho.
