The news came right after the launch of Murphy’s new Netflix series, ‘Ratched’. Luckily, it has been ruling various charts and was ranked No.1 on the streamer.
Talking about Monster, it will begin production in January. A lot regarding the series is yet to be out from the creators. However, we still got our hands-on some deets.
About The Series
Monster follows the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers, Jeffery Dahmer. The story will be majorly narrated from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims. It will also focus on the police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to go on a multiyear killing spree.
” The series dramatizes at least 10 instances where Dahmer was almost apprehended but ultimately let go. The series also is expected to touch on white privilege, as Dahmer, a clean-cut, good-looking white guy, was repeatedly given a free pass by cops as well as by judges who were lenient when he had been charged with petty crimes.”
The Cast And Crew!
Murphy is out looking for the best team possible for his new masterpiece. Unlike, his series The Assassination of Gianni Versace, where he had only one option to star Darren Criss, Murphy is going at large to look for his lead. According to sources, Murphy and other producers are on a global hunt to find the best suit for the male lead.
The producers are also looking for a female participant who will play the role of Glenda Cleveland. She was the neighbor of Dahmer’s who frequently tried to warn the police and law of his psychotic behavior.
Besides, from all the looking, the producers have welcomed Emmy winner Richard Jenkins (The Shape of water) in the team. Jenkins will be playing the role of Lionel, Dahmer’s father. He is the one who taught Dahmer how to safely bleach and preserve animal bones in his childhood. However, Jeffery used these techniques to fulfill his own evil deeds.

Carl Franklin will be directing the pilot. And, Janet Mock will also accompany him, she will also pen down several episodes for the series. The two are serving executive producers with Murphy and Brennan. The series will consist of ten episodes in total. It will take the audience through Dahmer’s life in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and will conclude in the 90s when Dahmer got arrested.
