The CW show, Riverdale is known for its unique storyline and dark mysterious theme. Obviously, the show has established a huge fandom. And, now after completing 4 seasons, Riverdale is all set to come out with another season. Riverdale came out back in 2017 and is successfully entertaining the fans. The series is partially adapted from Archie’s comics whereas, Warner Bros produces the show.
Sadly, the show was cut short in the fourth season. And, the fans were deeply sad as the show has to end forcefully. The filming of the show was halted in March due to the pandemic, and, hence it left the audience early with a cliffhanger. Fans are eagerly waiting for the new season. Especially, now when showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has shared the first look of the upcoming episodes.

Season 5: Lili Reinhart Spills Some Big Details
Lili Reinhart who plays Betty on the show recently dropped a major update on the upcoming season. While being on The Jimmy Fallon Show (virtually), Reinhart revealed that the new season will experience a seven-year time leap. This means that the main cast of the show won’t be teenagers anymore.

Reinhart also told Fallon that the crew will start the filming of season 5 soon. Currently, they are filming the rest of season 4 and as soon as it ends, the filming for season 5 will take place. The actress also joked about how they were supposed to film season 4 in March and now it is September. And, they are still unaware of the release date of the remaining fourth season.
Reinhart also confessed that she is very “psyched” to play the older version of her character on the show. She said it would be nice to play an adult. And, she also appreciated showrunner (Aguirre-Sacasa) regarding how he wants to revamp the show. At last, she wished that COVID does not take the fun away from her life after she returns back to her old routine.
Who All Will Be Seen In Season 5?
Although any update regarding the cast for the next season is not out, we still have some updates. Firstly, we got to know that Skeet Ulrich who plays F.P Jones won’t be returning to the show. He revealed online that he quit the show because he got bored “creatively”. Marisol Nichols, who plays Hermione Lodge won’t be returning as a series regular as well. Now, that the characters are growing up, some of them have to say goodbye.
But, we believe that the core cast members i.e Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Pesch, and Cole Sprouse will definitely return back to the show.
