Plot Overview of Rising Of The Shield Hero
The Story starts as a generic Isekai Anime, with characters being summoned to another world where they are treated as heroes. Amongst these chosen people is our protagonist, Naofumi, who, along with three others, was chosen to be a Hero. Being an Otaku himself, he couldn’t help but get excited for the Adventures that awaited him in this new world.
Chosen as the Shield Hero, Naofumi from the get-go could feel some discrimination towards him. The hatred towards him became apparent when he gets tricked by the Princess and charged for raping her. Bitter and Angry from this betrayal, Naofumi leaves the Royal city and swears to get stronger on his own. In his journey, he buys a slave named Raphtalia, who becomes his sword.
Now a stronger and more capable Naofumi, along with his companions Raphtalia and Filo, take on the Waves, a crack in the sky that allows Monsters to enter and cause destruction. Naofumi needs to work with the very people who betrayed him to survive the Waves. How will Naofumi come to terms with the anger-filled up inside him, and what is the next big Adventure in store for him?
Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date
After “Rising Of The Shield Hero” was renewed for a second and third season, we were assured that the upcoming seasons would be even better than Season 1. As far as we know so far, Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 is set to air in January of 2021. A teaser for the Anime’s Second Season was released during the Crunchyroll Expo 2020, held virtually.
Season 1 concluded with the revelation that there are other Heroes from other worlds as well. We don’t know how much of the plot will be covered in Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2, but apparently, the Giant Turtle will not be the only wave that will be featured.
The Animation of “Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2” is being handled by Kinema Citrus and will be Directed by Masato Jinbo. Keigo Koyanagi is writing the script, and the character designs will be taken care of by Masahiro Suwa.
The Cast from Season 1 will be reprising their roles for the upcoming season as well. The Anime will be streaming on Crunchyroll for overseas fans.
Rising Of The Shield Hero – About The Light Novel Series
Written by Aneko Yusagi and Illustrated by Seira Minami, Rising Of The Shield Hero is a Japanese Light Novel Series first published on Shōsetsuka Ni Naro in 2012. The series was picked up by Media Factor and was released in the MF Books from 2013 onwards. Since 2013, a total of 22 volumes have been released, and the series has also been adapted into an Anime and Manga.
The Manga is being Illustrated by Aiya Kyu, who began adapting the light novel into a manga from 2014 onwards. Since then, a total of 16 volumes have been released and many more to come.
