The pennyworth series’ principal photography began on October 22, 2018. It is distributed by Warner Bros. The shooting took place at the Studios, Leavesden in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, England. Several scenes were also shot in London, including the choice of the iconic building Florin Court as the house and neighborhood of one of the series’ key protagonists. A major part of the shooting also took place at the Dockyard Chatham in Kent. The streets were re-created to look like East London in the 1960s.
