Although the show is fictional, some parts of it are based on the real urban youth gang of the same name. Peaky Blinders first debuted in 2013 and has successfully completed five seasons until now. Moreover, its storyline and the performances by the cast is the best trait of the show. With a huge fan following, Peaky Blinders is one of the best crime shows ever made.
Peaky Blinders Season 6: Production Status
Actor Paul Anderson, who plays Arthur Shelby on the show, gave a major update on the series’s new season. Anderson recently posted an IG post. A cartoon image of his character and told the fans that season 6 is coming soon. He also thanked the viewers for the wait and said that it would be worth it.
Season 6, initially supposed to start production earlier this year, was put to a halt due to the coronavirus crisis. Director Anthony Byrne also dished some deets on the new season.
During an interview, Byrne said that the set and costumes were made. The lens and cameras were tested, and the locations were booked as well. But, everything went in vain. All the preparations were done. “It’s a real shame not to be able to make it for you [right now]. Byrne said.
Considering the situation, the show is expected to release by the end of 2021 or at the beginning of 2022.
Besides the news of production, creator Steve Knight also revealed his plans for Peaky Blinders.
Future Of Peaky Blinders
The creator of the show, Steve Knight, said that he wants to carry on the story until the beginning of World War II. He said that he wants the fans to see the Second World War’s first air raid siren. According to Knight, this will make the show a true story of a family between wars. We can expect season 6 and season 7 to feature the “second world war” events.
Knight gave an insight into season 6 too. He revealed that he is near to completing the scripts of season 6. He said that the team would begin shooting soon. And, soon, Knight will begin working on season 7 as well.
