Orphan is a movie that has been renounced in the horror movie community and was praised by some critics for its scares as well as its dark humor. The story of the first film revolves around a couple named Kate and John who lost their unborn baby and then decide to adopt a child. They do so by going to an orphanage and adopting a little girl named Esther. As soon as the girl comes into the couple’s life many unnatural things happen but Kate is the one that suspects all this is happening because of their newly adopted daughter.
Now, another movie of Orphan is coming which will be a prequel that is been directed by William Brent Bell. Moreover, the story is written by none other than David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick who wrote the screenplay and story for the 2009 movie. The movie was first named Esther which was unveiled in February of 2020 and at the same time, the director was also unveiled. In November 2020, the title of the movie was revealed which was Orphan: First Kill. The Principal photography of the movie began in Winnipeg in November 2020 and ended in December 2020.
Orphan First Kill Plot
We follow the story of a woman named Leena Klammer that suffers from hypopituitarism and it happens when she tried to intimidate Esther who is the daughter of Katie Mauerova and Richard Mauerova that is missing. But as the time progresses Richard is convinced that this isn’t his daughter but on the other hand, Katie doesn’t agree with him and she believes that Richard is suffering from paranoia and hallucinating. All of this caused separation between the family as well as some great deal of problems. Both Katie and Richard discover the twisted past of Leena which ultimately leads to Leena committing her first kill.

Orphan: First Kill Release Date
As for the release date, Orphan: First Kill’s release date hasn’t been revealed yet. In 2021 September Paramount Pictures acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film but no release date was announced after that. The movie might be released in the second half of 2022 or the first half of 2023.
