OAKLAND (BCN) — The Community Foods Market place on San Pablo Avenue in West Oakland will shut starting Monday morning, for at minimum 72 hrs, right after a store employee tested optimistic Sunday for the COVID-19 coronavirus, the market’s CEO explained.
“We have purpose to believe that that other staff might have been exposed to the virus,” Brahm Ahmadi, Local community Foods’ CEO and shop supervisor, said in a statement posted bust right before 6 p.m. Sunday on the store’s Facebook page. “We are using this proactive phase out of worry for the well being and safety of our workers and clients �. The well being and safety of our staff, customers, and local community is our greatest priority.”
Ahmadi stated that during the closure – initiated by the industry – managers will do a comprehensive assessment of security protocols, and seek the advice of with Alameda County public well being officers for suggestions on following methods. The store will be deep-cleaned and sanitized.
