Ruth Wilson and Tom Burke’s new movie, True Things has wrapped up the production. True Things shot for six-months in the UK and Spain before concluding the filming. And, now, they have dropped the first look and images from the movie as well. The movie is produced by Tristan Goligher (45 Years, Supernova, etc). Harry Wootliff is helming the project. The frontwoman of the movie, Ruth Wilson is also producing the movie under her production company Lady Lazarus; previously, known as Pear Shape Productions. Moreover, Ben Jackson and Jude Law will produce the movie via their production house, Riff Raff UK.
On the other hand, Rose Garnett, Eva Yates, Lizzie Francke, and Vincent Gadelle will serve as the executive producers. True Things is developed in association with BBC Films and features Tom Burke and Ruth Wilson in the lead roles.
Release, Production, And First Look
True Things began filming at the start of 2020, but, sadly, it had to stop, due to the pandemic. Previously, in September, the film resumed production and completed the project in six weeks. The filming took place in Ramsgate, in the east of England, and Malaga, in southern Spain.
The release date is still not out in the market. Considering that the movie is now in its post-production stage, we expect to witness it soon. Furthermore, Wootliff’s film is picked up by The Bureau Sales. Wootliff is known for creating great masterpieces. His last work ‘Only You’ was nominated for a BAFTA and a BIFA. And we believe True Things will break some records too.
Deborah Kay Davies’ book “True Things About Me,” is the idea about the plot of the movie. The script is penned down by Wootliff and Molly Davies. The movie is said to be a psychological thriller, reflecting the life of Kate (Wilson) who has been sleepwalking through life. But a sudden sexual encounter with an attractive stranger (Burke) awakens her. The plot sounds super thrilling, yet steamy, and something completely different. We are definitely in for this one.
Crew’s Outlook On The Movie
The man behind the movie, Witloof said some interesting things about his new project. He said the story showcases a kind of relationship which feels all-consuming at the moment,. However, when you look back at it later in life, you’ll find clarity as it was an important part of your life. Wootliff also said that True Things undermine the idea that we are complete only when we find true love.
Actress and producer, Ruth Wilson said that she knew Kate’s story will be liked by a lot of people ever since she read the book which was seven years ago. She said that a lot of stories disappear, but this one has stayed with her. Wilson said the movie is painful but funny, honest, and portrays a scenery of a woman finding her voice.
In the end, she mentioned how excited she is to work with Harry Wootliff and the complete team.
