Netflix released the first look for Chadwick’s Boseman’s last project, ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ this Thursday. Set in the early 20th century, the stills look crispy, antique, and quite intriguing. Unfortunately, this will be the last time, we will witness Boseman’s magic onscreen. But, let’s be positive about it and hope the movie gets the love it deserves. ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ stars, late Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis, Taylour Paige, and Colman Domingo.
Fans of the late star got a little overwhelmed after the first look was dropped. They were happy to see their hero in yet another fascinating role. The Black Panther star left the world in August due to colon cancer. It was quite shocking for the co-stars and fans as they were not aware of his condition. The world was stricken with a huge reality and some of us are still digesting the fact that the actor is no more. But we believe he is in a much better place now.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom: First Snapshots
The streaming giant finally unveiled the first pictures for the new movie, Ra Mainey’s Black Bottom. The film looks striking visually and also let the audience easily absorb the feeling of the 1920s environment. The shots feature the leads, Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman’s along with a perfect musical set. Moreover, once the pictures were released the fans started spamming the comment box. Some even said that the movie is gonna nab Oscars.

The movie is helmed by Denzel Washington and directed by George C Wolfe. And, is set to release on December 18. Ruben Santiago-Hudson will be taking the charge of the screenplay.
The Story Behind The Plot
The movie is based on a stage play by August Wilson and explores the struggle and exploitation of a black musician back in those days. The movie is set in the 1920s in Chicago and revolves around the title ‘Mother of the Blues’ and her band members.
Viola Davis is in the lead titular role, whereas Boseman plays Levee. Levee is a passionate and impulsive trumpeter of the band. The cast also includes Michael Potts as Slow Drag, Glynn Turman as Toledo, Colman Domingo as Cutler, and Jeremy Shamos as Ma’s manager Irvin, along with Jonny Coyne, Taylour Page, and Dusan Brown.

This is the second time Davis will feature in a Wilson adaptation. Earlier, she played rose in Fences, for which she earned an Oscar as well as a Tony.
