BTS did it again. The South Korean septet earned all the grand Prizes at Melon Music Awards 2020, which happened on Dec 5, 2020. However, this is not the first time the boys have swept away all of the major awards in one night. Previously in 2019, BTS did the same as they won big and took away all the Daesangs to their dorm. Moreover, BTS owns 40 Deasangs in total, which is the highest in the history of Korea. Besides getting awards for their talent and hard work, the boys also made sure to surprise armys with their new and firey performances. The boys danced to the songs from their new album, ‘BE.’
With everything looking shiny and bright, the audience and the Armys surely missed Suga (Min Yoongi). The rapper and producer could not join the group as he is in his hometown recovering from his shoulder surgery. But, he still makes efforts and constantly interacts with the Armys. He even posted about the performance his group members performed to at the event.
BTS Wins Big At MMA!
Even though 2020 ruined all our plans and destroyed all our hopes, BTS shone throughout the year. The South Korean boy band dropped two albums this year, which were a huge success. They also earned their first-ever No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 with their song, ‘Dynamite.’ Their recent release, ‘BE,’ came out a month ago and is already everyone’s favorite. With the most relatable and emotional music, BTS saved 2020 and the Armys again.
So, it is not a surprise that the boys were crowned with the “Album,” “Song,” and “Artist” of the year. Their lead from, ‘Be,’ “Life Goes On” now stands at No. 1 on the Hot Billboard chart as they continue to make history. The boys won for their album “Map of the Soul: 7,” song “Dynamite,” for best dance (male), and they also won the netizen’s choice award.
The group consists of seven members, RM (Kim Nam Joon/Leader), Kim Seok Jin, Suga (Min Yoongi), J-Hope (Jung Ho Seok), Park Ji Min, V (Kim Tae Hyung), and Jeon Jung Kook.
Not only the boys won big, but they also performed big. Due to the ongoing pandemic, MMA happened online without any audiences. It will be a four-day event.
However, BTS’ sets and performances brought liveliness to the show. Their highly anticipated performance started with Jimin dancing gracefully to Orchestral Black Swan Music. He was joined by Jungkook, who complimented him and left all the viewers stunned. You can watch the complete performance down below:
Followed by the contemporary dance, the boys danced to ON, and they also made sure to leave a space for Yoongi at the end of their performance, making the act more beautiful. The boys also performed “Life Goes On,” which soothed the viewers. But, how can they end the show without performing their super hit song, ‘Dynamite.’
All six members performed to Dynamite, which included a retro yet refreshing dance break. The Dance Break was definitely the best thing of the entire show. With their glittered outfits and suits, the boys looked even more ethereal as they made people groove behind their computer screens.
