In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Ojamajo DoReMi magical girl anime franchise, a Movie “Looking For Magical DoReMi” has been planned to be released. Initially set to release on the 15th of May but due to “production issues” along with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the film’s release was postponed all the way to the 13th of November. On Tuesday, the second visual for the upcoming film was released by Toei.
The Anime Film “Looking For Magical DoReMi” will be handled by Toei Animation and the Original Director of the Ojomajo DoReMi anime series, Junichi Sato, along with Yū Kamatani will be directing the movie. The Script for the film will be written by Midori Kuriyama and the Character Designs will be taken care of by Yoshihiko Umakoshi, both of who were part of the staff for the original Ojomajo DoReMi anime.
The Cast along with the Staff from the original Ojomajo DoReMi anime will be reprising their roles in the movie, with the addition of 3 new characters that were announced in the Tokyo International Film Festival back in 2019.
The New Cast Members Include:
Rena Matsui (Known for voicing the role of Suzune Kagami from Denpa Kiyoshi) will be voicing the character of Mire Yoshizuki.
Aoi Morikawa (Known for voicing the role of Aoi Nasaka from Koi To Uso) will be voicing the character of Sora Nagase.
Kanako Momota (Known for voicing the role of Zororeene from the Movie “Kaiketsu Zorori: ZZ no Himitsu”) will be voicing the character of Reika Kawatani.
Based on the Anime Series created by Toei Animation titled “Ojomajo DoReMi”, which premiered back in February of 1999 and ran all the way till January of 2000. The Anime series had a total of 51 episodes aired and the plot revolved around a group of elementary school girls who become witch apprentices under Doremi Harukaze.
The Ojomajo DoReMi series was later adapted into multiple Movies, anime series as well as Manga and Light Novels over the 20 years since its creation.
Looking For Magical DoReMi – What’s it about?
The movie revolves around the lives of an Office Lady Mire Yoshizuki, a college student Sora Nagase and a part-timer/freelancer Reika Kawatani. Each of these girls lives in completely different walks and stages of lives but what brings them together is a magical gem and once they are mysteriously brought together, they embark on their magical journey and hence starting their “New Magical Story”
