Lightyear is a spin-off film of one of the most beloved film series, which is now either that Toy Story. The concept of the movie was revealed in 2000. It was directed by Angus MacLane, with Jason Headley and Angus MacLane serving as writers for the movie. The development for the movie begin after the production of work on Finding Dory was finished. The music for Lightyear was made by Pixar composer Michael Giacchino who many fans will remember as he has worked on numerous Pixar projects such as Toy Story TV specials Toy Story of Terror! and Toy Story That Time Forgot.
The trailer for the film has been revealed by Pixar, which upon its reveal was met with a positive response and was praised for its animation in particular by the audience. There are a total of four different trailers for the film, and the most recent one was called a special look trailer that was recently released. In that trailer, the main villain of the movie was revealed, who is none other than Emperor Zurg, that has been mentioned in the previous installments of Toy Story. The plot of the movie revolves around the original Buzz Lightyear, who is the inspiration behind the action figure in the Toy Story films.

In this, Buzz Lightyear (the original one) wants to the right a wrong which is that with his mistake, Buzz and his crew were left to fate on a very dangerous planet. He first tries to test the flight for Star Command, but it doesn’t go according to plan as it makes him travel through time which is 62 years into the future. Now our hero must find a way to get back to his time and to his home, which he yarns for. But this is easier said than done as an evil man named Emperor Zurg is a very powerful man that has threatened the safety of the entire universe.
It is why it is up to Buzz Lightyear to become the bright star that will vanquish his darkness away and save the universe. It is a very interesting plot which tells us that the film will be a very action-packed adventure, but at the same time, the story will be an integral part of it as well. The trailer that has been unveiled has revealed many amazing scenes from the film, and it has only served to hype up the film even more.

Lightyear Release Date
As for the release date, Lightyear will be released on 17 June 2022 in the United States. It will be available in the theatres upon its release, and no release date has been unveiled for Disney’s streaming platform as of writing this.
