Kakegurui is a manga series that is written by Homura Kawamoto and Illustrated by Tōru Naomura. It is a popular manga series that has over 5 million copies in print in 2019, and it is still going strong to this very day. It was so popular that it caught the eye of MAPPA studio, which decided to make an anime series. On top of this, there was even a live-action movie of it, which just shows how popular it is. The anime was directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, and Yasuko Kobayashi served as the writer for it. It was a seasonal anime whose first season began in 2017, and the second one started in 2019.
The show is set at the Hyakkaou Private Academy, which is unlike another other as it has many different rules and traditions. That being said, this school has Japan’s wealthiest as well as the most influential people. Thes students have the capabilities to be the future leader of their country, but these students don’t determine the hierarchy by academic scores or anything like that, instead, it is judged by gambling. There is also a rank which is determined by how much the person has contributed to the Student Council to strengthen their gambling operations.
Kakegurui Season 3 Plot
Students that win will get three things which are popularity, prestige, and connections. But for, those that lose fall into debt and became a slave whose life is similar to or worst than an animal. Our protagonist Yumeko Jabami transfers from her school and seems very cheerful and intelligent, but deep down inside, she is a gambling powerhouse who loves gambling. She only wants to have fun and doesn’t care about financial or social gain. She possesses insane observation ability, which helps her a lot in these situations. She is determined that continues to gamble but at the same time destroy the hierarchy of the school, which she does so by seeing through the gambling scams.
The show’s premise is very interesting, and it no doubts that many loved the anime. But since the release of the second season, there hasn’t been any news on whether or not there will be a third season of the anime. Unfortunately, as of writing, neither the studio nor Netflix haven’t commented on this. Some might be thinking that the reason behind it was due to there not being enough material from which the animators can use it. But nothing is certain about the release of the third season of the show.
Kakegurui Season 3 Release Date
As for the release date, there hasn’t been any deal as to when the third session of the show will be released or if it will get renewed. But if the news does come, then the fans will most likely get the third season of Kakegurui in 2023.
