Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 2: “For Myself” was quite different from the pilot episode, which was more of a hype train, in this episode a lot more exposition is given about the world in which the story is set in. Explaining the seriousness of the Curse and it also kind of explained the power ranking amongst the already shown characters.

Episode 2 introduced Fushiguro’s Teacher Gojou, who by the way is just so freaking cool, who comes in at the last moment to display amazing skill and power. He was able to completely overpower Sukuna, given that he was only 1/20th of his full power, but still pretty powerful nonetheless. In this episode, Itadori is given a choice to either be executed now or help them collect all the fingers of Sukuna and then be executed ending the curse with him. Being given these terrible options, Itadori decides to honour his Grandfather’s last wish to save people.
Interestingly, despite the heavy premise of the Anime, it still finds a way to be light hearted and even funny at times. The Characters in the Story, from the Principal to Itadori himself all of them seem very unique and have this weird easy going and goofy vibe to them that helps ease the tension and keeps the audience entertained. Episode 2 didn’t have much of fighting or any amazing combat scenes, instead it just added more characters into the mix.
Itadori has now moved to Tokyo to attend the Jujutsu School but before he could head over to his dorm room, he had to pass a test by the Principal. The Principal who although looks like a very serious man was busy making cutesy dolls, and asked Itadori the question as to why he’s here. Itadori who’s kind of dumbfounded by the question just replies by saying to study about Sorcery, signifying that Itadori is clearly just going with the flow and isn’t really that serious about Sorcery.
After a little of a fight with one of the dolls made by the Principal along with some serious words exchanged between the Principal and Itadori. Itadori comes to a realization that he is doing what his Grandfather told him to do because he just wants to blame him at his deathbed, realising this Itadori changes his answer and says he’s doing it because he’s the only one that can and he doesn’t want to regret not helping later.
The ending of the episode happened with the three, Fushiguro, Gojou, and Itadori deciding to go pick up the Third Years from the station. The Episode ends with what one can assume to be one of the Third Years, a Girl who is excited about going to Tokyo and seems to be so confident in herself that she is fantasizing about being recruited to be a Model.
Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 3: Girl Of Steel – What Can We Expect
Episode 3 will be airing on the 16th Of October and will be most likely be explaining more about the Girl shown at the end of Episode 2. Judging from the preview at the end of Episode 2, it’s very clear that the Girl is an experienced Sorcerer and uses some kind of ability that fuses her curse into the needles.
