Jujutsu Kaisen is a manga series that has received critical acclaim from the audience and anime critics. The creator of the series then decided to make a prequel manga that focused on the events that occurred before the events of the manga. As the manga series, it was without a doubt a great addition to the series as it showed many important things which had a very great impact on the story as a whole. Furthermore, it all deepened the lore of the entire series in which nothing could go wrong.
The prequel manga series had a total of 4 chapters that started in April of 2021 and ended in July of the same year. Later in the year, the director of Jujutsu Kaisen anime stated that he wanted to adapt the prequel manga series into an episodic anime which was great news but later, a even better news came, which was that it would now be adapted into an anime film. The film’s production was handled by the same studio that made the anime which is MAPPA (Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3, The God of High School).
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Plot
The film follows the story of Yuuta Okkotsu, where he is been hunted ever since his friend from childhood named Rika, who, unfortunately, died in a traffic accident. Ever since, he is been hunted by her ghost but hunted as she isn’t the same old sweet girl that Yuuta once knew. Instead, that girl is in the form of a monstrous and powerful entity that will do anything to protect him at all costs. He is unable to stop the violent nature of Rika, Yuuta is completely helpless and can’t stop the bloodshed that followed in her wake. Because of this reason, he was then caught by a Jujutsu sorcerer who is trained to battle the force of evil like Rika.
Yuuta then decides that he will isolate himself completely from the outside world to stop this rampaging demon. But the person who captured him is none other than Satoru Gojou, who wants him to join the Jujutsu High School. By doing so, Gojou wants Yuuta to learn how to control Rika to help people. Time passes by, and now he is a first-year student and starts to learn Jujutsu arts and combat malignant beings. But as his training progress, he learns of the many dangerous things that lie within the Jujutsu world, which even surpasses the wicked spirits.
