Fantastic Beasts 3 is almost here, and one main character the fans were dying to see is out of the film. Actor Johnny Depp who had small screentime in the first part; And a whole storyline to himself in the sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, won’t appear in the third installment. Earlier, it was revealed that the 57-year old actor would be enjoying equal screen time just like co-stars Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne. Sadly, Johnny Depp has bid his farewell to Fantastic Beasts 3.
However, that’s not it; according to insider news, the actor is getting paid a hefty $10 million for merely a scene in the new film. Unfortunately, due to his libel case against ex-wife Amber Heard, the actor was asked to resign from the film. Depp lost the libel case, which was running for god knows how long; it is the main reason behind his absence from the movie.
Due to Depp’s pay-or-play scheme, the creators of Warner Bros decided to pay the actor his complete fees despite having him in the film.

A Brief List Of Cast (Updated)
Johnny Depp, who plays Gillert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series, won’t be seen in the third part. Sadly, the actor is removed from the project due to his personal matters. But, that doesn’t mean to lose hope. Apart from Depp, all of the major cast will be seen reprising their roles.
The movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander; Katherine Waterson as Tina Goldstein; Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski; Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore; Jessica Williams as Professor Eulalie Hicks; Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander; Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone / Aurelius Dumbledore; and Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein.
David Yates will be directing the movie, whereas J.K Rowling, David Heyman, Steve Kloves, and Lionel Wigram are producing the movie. Also, the story is by Rowling, who is also serving as the screenwriter.
The movie will follow the events after several years of the former film. Moreover, this time, the premise is set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; And, will feature the involvement of Wizarding World’s role in World War II.
Production And Release Date
The screenplay for the third part was already decided by J.K Rowling in 2016. And it was also confirmed that Fantastic Beasts would have five parts in total. Earlier, Fantastic Beasts 3 was scheduled to release in November 2020, but, couldn’t happen somehow. Later, according to the schedule, the film was to begin principal photography in March 2020. Sadly, it was shut down on the same day it began due to the ongoing pandemic crisis.
In September 2020, filming finally began under safety precautions to keep the film’s cast and crew safe.
Initially, the film was getting released on November 21, 2021. However, after Depp’s departure, Warner Bros have shifted the film to 2022. Fantastic Beasts 3 will now open on July 15, 2022.
