The Official Facebook Page of Japanese Film Festival – India on Wednesday announced due to the restrictions imposed on account of the COVID-19 Pandemic the movies will be streamed on Vimeo for free. According to the announcement, from September to November, on a weekend each month an Anime Film will be streamed on Vimeo for free.
What Is The Japanese Film Festival – India?
Japan Foundation presents the largest selection films from amongst the latest releases from Japan. The films that are being screened as part of this Festival have been handpicked to give the Indian audiences a sense and experience of the range in contemporary Japanese cinema, which includes features, award winners, illuminating documentaries and of course, anime. The Japanese Film Festival invites all Indian audiences to come and appreciate Japanese culture and cinematography.
The Japanese Film Festival – India is a festival which is held in some of the major cities and states in India. Last Year’s Japanese Film Festival was held in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, and Guwahati. This festival is growing more and more in popularity as the years are going by not just because of the films being screened but also because it was one of the Japanese festivals that were being held anywhere in India.
Although it may not seem like it, India has a huge number of people that are absolutely in love with Japanese culture and want to experience anything remotely close to a Japanese pop culture.
So far the movies which will be streamed for the festival, along with other information about the registration and dates for the show have not been announced. The Facebook post said more information is to come on a later post. The fans are excited about this festival, and this will be the third year that this festival will be held. Some of the films that have been screened in the festival include Live Action Adaptation Of Tokyo Ghoul, The Anime Film Weathering With You, and Your Name amongst many other interesting and well made movies from Japan.
