Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Live announced that the Second Season of the popular anime series “An Irregular At High School” will premiere in Japan this October 3rd. Initially set to air in July, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, many anime alike were postponed all the way to October of 2020. The second season will be titled “Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Raihōsha-hen(The irregular at magic high school: Visitor Arc)”.
Risako Yoshida will direct an Irregular At High School Season 2, while Studio 8-bit will be handling the Animation for Season 2 instead of Madhouse who directed Season 1 of the anime adaptation, and the Character Designs for the show will be done by Kana Ishida. The second season has been highly anticipated by the fans ever since it’s an announcement at the “Dengeki Bunko Aki no Namahōsō Festival” event on October 6, 2019.
The returning voice actors for the “Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Raihōsha-hen(The irregular at magic high school: Visitor Arc)” amongst others include:
- Yuichi Nakamura the voice actor of Tatsuya Shiba
- Saori Hayami the voice actor of Shiba Miyuki
- Yoko Hikasa the voice actor of Angelina-Kudou-Shields
- Uchiyama Yumi the voice actor of Chiba Erika
- Taku Terashima the voice actor of Saijo Leonhard
The Irregular At Magic High School – What’s it about?
He was initially published as a web novel under the name “The Irregular At Magic High School” back 2008 on an internet web novel website called Shōsetsuka ni Narō, by Tsutomu Sajima, who later on signed a deal with Dengeki Bunko and began writing his work in a light novel format. Ever since 2011, the light novel series completely lifted off with multiple manga adaptations from various authors for different volumes. There are a total of 32 volumes released, and multiple side stories are also released by the same author.
The plot follows Two siblings, Tatsuya Shiba and Shiba Miyuki, who belong to an infamous Yotsuba clan who are both trying to keep their connections to their clan a secret while trying to live a normal high school life. The story is set in a world where magic is real and is implemented into technology to make it more advanced.
While Miyuki was put in the First Course because her talent for magic was measured to be very high while her brother Tatsuya was put in the Second Course because he was deemed magically inept. Although being unable to use magic Tatsuya proved that he is an Irregular at the Magic School with the help of his physical abilities and combat skills along with his knowledge.
