Broadway project, The Music Man starring Hugh Jackman will now open in 2022. Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the musical is pushed back. The highly expected musical will now begin the previews on December 20, 2020. And, the final opening night will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2022. The Music Man starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster will premiere at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre.
The Music Man is a musical that first debuted back in 1957. Moreover, the musical consists of books, music, and lyrics by Meredith Wilson. Also, Wilson along with Franklin Lacey has penned down the story. Also, the musical won a Tony award for its portrayal. Following the success, the broadway musical was also adapted to a big screen into a film of the same name. Even the movie won an Academy Award out of the six other categories it was nominated for.
Obviously, the fans have high expectations for the upcoming musical revival. And, with the amazing story, music, and crew, the new adaptation will win several hearts as well.

The Music Man (2022): Cast And Crew
Scott Rudin, Barry Diller, and David Geffen will be serving as the producers on the musical representation. Whereas, the direction credits will go to Jerry Zaks. Zaks has also earned four Tony awards for his mind-blowing performances. His credits include “Guys and Dolls,”, “Six Degrees of Separation,” “Lend Me a Tenor,” and ” The House of Blue Leaves.”
Warren Carlyle who is also a recipient of a Tony Award is responsible for the choreography. Apart from that, Tony winners Jayne Houdyshell as Mrs. Shinn, Jefferson Mays as Mayor Shinn, Marie Mullen as Mrs. Paroo, and Shuler Hensley as Marcellus Washburn will also star in the production.

Hugh Jackman is playing the role of Professor Harold Hill; And, Sutton will portray Marian Paroo. The production also reunites the members of the musical, Hello, Dolly!
Santo Loquasto (Scenic & Costume Design), Scott Lehrer (Sound Design), and David Chase (Dance Arrangements) will be returning back with this new musical.
Other Delays
The musical revival of The Music Man was originally set to begin production on September 9. And, it would have opened on 10th October at the Winter Garden Theatre. Previews were later scheduled to begin on April 7, 2021, with opening night set for May 20. But, sadly, the pandemic again ruined the show.
