On September 17th 2020, the Manga Series by HERO, “Horimiya”, was announced to receive an Anime Adaptation in January of 2021. The Official Website Of The Anime was also recently launched, which revealed the Cast, Staff, and a new Visual for the show. The Official Twitter Account of the anime tweeted out a link to th Promotional Video on the 21st of September.

The Anime Adaptation of “Horimiya” will be handled by Studio CloverWorks and the Director for the anime series is Masashi Ishihama. The Script for the show will be written by Takao Yoshioka and the Character Designs will be taken care of by Haruko Iizuka.
The Cast Announced For The Anime So Far Include:
Haruka Tomatsu (Known for voicing the role of Lala Satalin Deviluke from To Love Ru) will be voicing the character of Kyoko Hori.
Koki Uchiyama (Known for voicing the role of Banagher Links from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn) will be voicing the character of Miyamura Izumi.
The Manga Series has previously inspired 4 OVA or Original Video Animations. The First OVA aired in September of 2012 and was directed by Shingo Natsume at Hoods Entertainment Studio. The Second OVA aired in March of 2014 was handled by Hoods Entertainment as well but the Director for the OVA was Erukin Kawabata. For the Third OVA which aired in March of 2015, Studio Marone handled the Animation while the Director for the anime was Tetsuo Hirakawa and finally, the Fourth OVA which aired in December of 2018 was done by Studio Gonzo and Directed by Kazuya Aiura.
About The Manga | Horimiya
Written by HERO and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara, “Horimiya”, is a Japanese Manga Series that initially was released in a 4-panel type comic on HERO’s Website Dokkan Ahen, and was compiled and published under Square Enix’s Gangan Comics Online from 2007 to 2011. The 4-panel comic was redrawn by Daisuke Hagiwara and the newly Drawn Horimiya Manga Series was serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy and has a total of 14 Volumes released so far.

The Story is about Kyoko Hori and Miyamura Izumi, both of who have these hobbies and personas hidden from their classmates, which they can’t really share because they are worried about how they will be looked at. Kyoko Hori although extremely popular in class because of her looks and grades, once reaching home somewhat of a Homebody that doesn’t really wear makeup or do fashionable stuff. Miyamura Izumi, usually the gloomy, silent guy in class, likes to wear punk clothes, piercings and has tattoos. One day upon helping a little boy who later turned out to be Hori’s little brother, they both discover each other’s hidden faces, which leads to them slowly getting more and more closer to each other and thus starting a romantic relationship.
