With Haikyu! Season 4 Part 2 airing weekly since October after being delayed earlier this year, many fans are happy. However, Haikyu! Season 5 being delayed is one thing that has been lingering on the minds of the Fans. We know that the manga still has a lot of plot left that could be adapted into the Anime, as we are merely beginning to see what the Nationals are all about. About The Manga | Haikyu!
Written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu! is a Japanese volleyball themed sports manga. The Manga Series was serialized back in 2011 in the Weekly Shonen JUMP and had an excellent nine-year run before concluding in 2020. With over 400 chapters, collected in 43 volumes, this shonen manga captured many sports fans’ hearts, and even otherwise, it never gave up the vibe and wonderful story.
Plot Overview | Haikyu!
The story follows the life of Hinata Shoyo, who, despite being short, wants to play and dominate in volleyball. Although he works really hard at it, volleyball is a sport that favors taller players more. That belief to Hinata is of little to no concern because he can jump really high, and he’s determined to put in the work.
Hinata wants to become like his idol and motivation, “The Little Giant,” who used to dominate in volleyball despite being short. Once Hinata had witnessed what “The Little Giant” could do, there was no going back for him either. However, the path to becoming the best all on your own is a long and challenging journey. That is a different story if you’re traveling that road with a team as at the end of the day, volleyball is a team sport.
Haikyu! Season 5 | Release Date And Announcements
Originally, Haikyuu!! Season 5 was supposed to begin airing from the July of 2020 and was supposed to be in the middle of airing. However, due to the unpredicted COVID-19 Pandemic, Haikyuu!! Season 5 was forced to be delayed. As of now, we can only assume that Haikyuu!! Season 5 will be airing in 2021 at the earliest, but no definitive release schedule has been confirmed. Judging from the popularity of Season 4 Part 2 and the fact that the Anime was already slated to air in July, it wouldn’t be long before we hear a confirmed Release Date. It could be as soon as Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 finishes airing, so keep your fingers crossed.
Haikyuu!! Season 5 will be handled by I.G. Production and will be directed by Masako Satō. The Script will be penned down by Taku Kishimoto and Toshimitsu Takeuchi. As for the Cast, they will definitely be returning for the 5th installment of the series, so rest assured. Most of the Staff, along with the Cast, will be reprising their roles for Season 5.
