What is the plot of the movie?
Tyler Rake is hired by his handler Nik Khan to rescue Ovi Mahajan from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Rake saves Ovi, kills his captors, and transports him to the extraction point, but his father’s men fail to transfer the funds on purpose. Instead, Saju murders Rake’s teammates and attempts to murder Rake himself. When the local police chief learns of Ovi’s escape, he orders an urgent lockdown of Dhaka.
Asif has placed a $10 million reward on Rake’s henchman, Ovi’s head. Rake refuses and is attacked by a gang of boys led by Farhad, a young fugitive eager to impress Asif. Khan arranges for a helicopter to take Rake outside of town and advises him to abandon Ovi because the contract has been voided. Ovi hops into his school’s swimming pool to practice holding his breath, mirroring Tyler’s introduction scene. When he comes to, he sees the lightheadedness of a man who looks like Tyler watching him.

Extraction Ending Explained
The scene of Extraction is a bit ambiguous as it does not clarify whether Tyler is still alive or is he dead. While Ovi was swimming in the pool, he witnessed a blurry image of a man who seems like Tyler, but before the viewers could see anything, the screen goes black.
The director Sam talked about the ending of Extraction in an interview, he said, ” well, for those who want Tyler to sacrifice his life-saving Ovi, for them he is dead. But still, some fans want him to be alive and return for the next part as for them, we have shown a blurry image to let the fans conclude what they want. ”
The extraction ending is confusing but still makes sense. The director Sam further revealed that People were split almost down the middle. People who believe the story is complete and is a story of redemption through sacrifice will be drawn to the scene in which the child imagines [Rake standing there, as Chris Hemsworth explained.
