Diablo is one of the most beloved gaming franchises in the world, and it has its dedicated fan base, which is still active to this very day. When the first game in the series was first released, it was praised by the critics for its story and most of its diverse gameplay. It was revealed that the gameplay of the game was inspired by the roguelike genre. The franchise has seen some downfall in the later installments, but the developers promised that Diablo 4 will be going back to its roots which are the hardcore aspects of what the fans loved about the first game.
This game’s announcement took place in BlizzCon 2019, which was exciting for many fans of the series as it has been a very long time since they have gotten a proper Diablo game. There have been many details revealed about the game, like its gameplay, classes, and plot details which are set after the events of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. There are going to be microtransactions in the game, but they will only be cosmetic items that can be purchased by the players. Like the previous games, it can’t be played offline, and to play, an internet connection is required.
Diablo 4 Plot
The fourth installment of the game will be taking place in the world of Sanctuary, and the story will continue was Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, in which a terrible event took place that had a great impact on the world. The main antagonist of Diablo has made her appearance, and her name is the daughter of Mephisto, Lilith. She was summoned by none other than Cultists, they achieve this feat when both demons and angels’ numbers started dwindling. Because of that, it allowed Lilith to establish her power in Sanctuary.
Before the events of the fourth game, Lilith and the angel created this place called the Sanctuary to provide shelter. This relationship that is between these two races creates another race called Nephalem. These are a very powerful race from which the protagonist hails from because of that, the people that live here are worried that it would bring unwanted attention to this shelter of theirs. These people then wanted to destroy their existence, and Lilith doesn’t want her children to be killed, but this in terms leads her to get banished to the void.
Diablo 4 Cases
There are going to be four classes in the game, which are Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, and Rogue. Each of their abilities has been revealed, and you can read about their abilities down below:
• Barbarian
The Barbarian is what you would expect from a barbarian as they will charge at enemies with their blunt and sharp weapons, which will be very effective. Their special will have an energy-based attack that damages surrounding enemies, and they will also have attack buffs as well as flaming runes.
• Sorceress
The Sorceress is a class that attacks the enemies from distance with projectile attacks such as fireballs, ice arrows, as well as bolts of lightning. They will also have the magic of enchanting skills, which will make them more useful.
• Druid
Druid is a class that is making its return by getting a new design and magic skills. They will have the ability to shape-shifting between werebear, werewolf, and human.
• Rogue
Rogue is a class that will be very versatile, and it will be like a hybrid between the Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 Rogue, which makes it much more interesting.
Diablo 4 Release Date
Diablo 4 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and on the next generation of consoles, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet. The release date for the game hasn’t been announced, but there have been constant updates on the game, which showcases where the game stands right now. Most likely, Diablo 4 will be released at the end of 2023 because Covid 19 delayed the development for the game.
