Blue Lock is a manga series that is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The manga was received positively by the audience and the critics, that praised numerous aspects of it. Furthermore, Blue Lock was in the third spot on Japanese Bookstores Recommend in 2020. It has sold a total of 8.3 million copies which is quite impressive. The manga series is still going on to this very day, and it is going strong to this very day.
The manga series is without a doubt popular, and due to its popularity, an anime series was announced in August 2021, that made a lot of fans excited. The anime studio that will be handling this project is Eight Bit, which is known for its work on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime which received critical acclaim upon its release. The director for the first season will be Tetsuaki Watanabe and Shunsuke Ishikawa. The writer for the show is going to be Taku Kishimoto, and the music will be handled by Jun Murayama.
Blue Lock Plot
The story of the anime begins in the year 2018 when the national team of Japan, unfortunately, finished 16th in the FIFA World Cup. Being so disappointed, the Japanese Football Union decides to hire a mysterious soccer player named Ego Jinpachi. His plan for achieving his dream which is to lead Japan to victory, which is to win the World Cup.
He intends to achieve this by doing a training routine that was made to create the greatest egotist striker in the world. It is a very hard training program, and those people that fail this won’t be able to represent Japan. In the middle of all this, a high school student named Yoichi Isagi decides to become the best player in the world.
