Series Review!
The original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a drama, but people enjoyed the old-school comedy with some drama. Carlton’s innocence (actually confident in himself but still wanting a genuine friendship with his cousin Will), Hillary’s spoiledness. Ashley, her beauty and innocence as a baby, discovering her cool side and freedom as a young pre-teen/teenage girl as a result of Will moving in with them, not questioning her sexuality. Also, the kids RESPECT and HONOR Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv, even though we all know they were not perfect.
The language, the unneeded drama (jealousy, lies, deception, childish arguments just to make someone angry) for no apparent reason. And I can’t forget Geoffrey, the Butler who seemed like a straight family/a friend and always did his job with personality and pure honesty. This younger generation may be influenced by the spirit behind the show, but I am not, and, unfortunately, values, morals, friendships, and family standards must change with the times by the entertainment that is produced.
