However, Anna will be giving life to this character in the new Netflix show of the same name as the novel. The Queen’s Gambit is based on the Walter Tevis novel and will premiere in October.

The Plot!
Set in the 1950s, The series follows the life of a young orphan girl, Beth Harmon (Taylor-Joy). She spends her life at the Kentucky Orphanage, where she develops her interest in chess. Moreover, she also gets addicted to tranquilizers which were frequently given to her by the orderlies.
She goes through her teenage phase and soon reaches into the young adulthood where she must know how to face and tussle the male-dominant world. Especially when she wants to achieve her throne in the world of chess.
Beth also faces some problems to find the true meaning of her existence because of the trauma she went through in her childhood. According to the trailer, it also seems Beth had some mommy issues which we will eventually witness once the show airs.
The show will premiere on October 23rd, 2020 on Netflix. It stars Anna Taylor-Joy, Harry Melling, Moses Ingram, Matthew Dennis Lewis, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Marielle Heller.
