Andor is a name that is recognized by many Star Wars fans as it is an upcoming tv series by Disney for their insane streaming platform named Disney+. It is been created by Tony Gilroy and Diego Luna, as well as Stephen Schiff serving as Executive producers for the show. This project was announced by the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger in November of 2017. Andor is a highly anticipated project that is set to last for three seasons previous it was supposed to run for five seasons, but this was changed to three seasons. Moreover, on top of that, the show has been already renewed for a second season with a total of 12 episodes.
Furthermore, the production for the second season had already begun. The show’s production began in 2019 and then again in June 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the filming for the show was stopped many times. Furthermore, after the filming began again, there were multiple temperature checks were conducted three times a week to check for COVID-19. The story of the show begins five years before the events of the film Rogue One. It will follow the story of the cast of characters from the film who are forming a Rebel Alliance to oppose the Galactic Empire.
Andor Cast Members
Amongst these individuals, one of the characters is a thief who becomes a revolutionary and ultimately joins the Rebellion, and he is named Cassian Andor. His home was destroyed by the Empire and now wants to save the entire galaxy from the Empire’s clutches. The cast members of the show have also been revealed, which consists of Diego Luna as Cassian Andor and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, who is a senator in the Empire that in secrecy funds the Rebel Alliance. Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera is a veteran from the Clone Wars and is the leader of a militant insurgent group.

There are many other cast members, but their roles haven’t been revealed yet, including Stellan Skarsgård (Good Will Hunting, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Adria Arjona ( Pacific Rim: Uprising, 6 Underground). Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter), Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Robert Emms, and David Hayman. These few cast members’ roles haven’t been revealed yet, but in the future, they will get revealed.
Andor Release Date
Andor will consist of 12 episodes and will be released on 31 August 2022. The first three episodes of the show will be directed by Toby Haynes, and Tony Gilroy will serve as the writer for the first three episodes. Furthermore, Ben Caron and Susanna White will be directing some of the episodes as well.
