Mark Henry made a surprise return to WWE television on a recent episode of “WWE Raw,” marking his first appearance since his stint with AEW. Accompanied by his son, Jacob Henry, who is now part of WWE’s Next In Line (NIL) program, Henry’s presence brought excitement to the show. His appearance highlighted the beginning of his son’s potential career in professional wrestling, following in his father’s footsteps.

After the show, Mark Henry discussed the differences backstage now that Paul “Triple H” Levesque is in charge of WWE, following Vince McMahon’s departure. Henry, who had only worked under McMahon throughout his WWE career, shared his observations about the change in atmosphere behind the scenes.

He noted that the environment felt different, with performers seemingly under less pressure since Levesque took over. Henry retired from in-ring competition after WrestleMania 33, making this new experience particularly significant for him.

Henry highlighted how this shift in leadership has allowed wrestlers more creative freedom, explaining that there is now a greater tolerance for mistakes. He expressed that having the ability to experiment and create, without the looming pressure of strict guidelines, gives performers more room to develop their craft.

Henry emphasized the value of this newfound freedom, pointing out that even though failure may still result in tighter control, the opportunity to be creative is a positive change.

Jacob Henry, Mark’s son, recently signed with WWE as part of their NIL program, a partnership that was announced during SummerSlam weekend. The announcement took place at an event in Cleveland, Ohio, where Mark was DJing. Jacob is currently a collegiate wrestler at the University of Oklahoma and once considered a career in the NFL. His impressive physical strength, reminiscent of his father, was showcased when a video of him squatting 610 pounds went viral.

Although Jacob’s transition to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando has not yet been confirmed, his signing marks the beginning of what could be a promising career in WWE. With his wrestling background and physical prowess, Jacob has the potential to carry on his father’s legacy in the wrestling world. Meanwhile, Mark Henry’s return to WWE and his reflections on the new backstage atmosphere suggest a positive direction for the company under Triple H’s leadership.
