\Stephen Bear, the former winner of Big Brother, has been ordered to pay back the profits he made from sharing a private video of himself having sex with reality TV star Georgia Harrison on his OnlyFans site. The video’s release, which Bear was found guilty of voyeurism and distributing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress, had devastating consequences for Ms. Harrison. She has spoken out about how the incident ruined her life, preventing her from having children one day and causing her to lose work. Despite being awarded £207,900 in damages and £213,515 in costs from a High Court case, Bear has yet to pay a single penny to Ms. Harrison.
As part of the Proceeds of Crime Act, the court ordered Bear to pay back the profits he made from the video, which totalled £22,305. The court also ordered him to pay Ms. Harrison £5,000 in compensation, which will be enforced through the magistrates’ court if not satisfied. If Bear fails to pay the confiscation order within three months, he will face nine months in prison. Bear’s lawyer, Gemma Rose, argued that there was already a compensation order in effect, but the judge disagreed, stressing the importance of ensuring that Bear pays back the profits he made from the video.
Ms. Harrison, who has been through a traumatic ordeal, plans to donate some of the money she receives to charities that have supported her throughout the ordeal. She has spoken out about the importance of holding perpetrators of image-based sexual abuse accountable for their actions, including making them pay back any money they made from the exploitation of the victim. The judge, Christopher Morgan, echoed this sentiment, saying that it was in the interests of justice to make the confiscation order and compensation order.
