Katie Price, a 45-year-old reality TV star, has been fined £880 and ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge after being found guilty of driving without a licence or insurance. The fine was imposed due to Price’s numerous previous convictions for motoring offences, including driving while disqualified in 2019 and 2021. The court found her guilty in her absence after a brief trial, with CCTV footage showing Price, wearing black slippers, stepping out of the driver’s side of her bronze-coloured Range Rover at a petrol station on the A14 at Kettering on August 2 last year.
Price had been banned from driving for two years following a crash in September 2021, but despite this, she was still behind the wheel. The prosecutor in the case revealed that Price had five previous driving bans during a 2021 court appearance, where she was handed a 16-week suspended jail sentence for drink-driving. At the time, the judge cautioned Price that if she were to commit another driving offence, she would face a custodial sentence.
In a separate case, a High Court judge recently ruled that Price will lose nearly half of her monthly income from adult entertainment website OnlyFans for the next three years after she was declared bankrupt in November 2019. The latest court hearing took place weeks after this ruling. The court imposed a fine of £880, which Price must pay within 28 days, along with costs and a victim surcharge, bringing the total amount to £1,852.
Price’s defence team has yet to comment on the latest court ruling, which is yet another example of her disregard for the law and disregard for the safety of others on the road. The repeated fines and bans demonstrate a clear pattern of behaviour, and it is surprising that she has not yet learned her lesson.
